Defined as the point where ID is no longer influenced by VD

  • VDS > 4UT ~ 100mV - 200mV
  • For Saturation
    • n-channel I_d = I_S \frac{W}L \exp{ \left [ \frac{\kappa V_{G}}{U_T} \right ] } \exp{ \left [ \frac{- V_{S}}{U_T} \right ] }
    • p-channel I_d = I_S \frac{W}L \exp{ \left [ \frac{- \kappa V_{G}}{U_T} \right ] } \exp{ \left [ \frac{ V_{S}}{U_T} \right ] }
