Basics

An ideal current should have infinite output impedance. The actual output resistance of a simple 2 transistor mirror is the r_ds of the output transistor.

Diode Connected Transistor

This is when the gate of a transistor is connected to its drain.

Facts:

• The transistor is always in the active region of operation.
• Because r_ds >> 1/g_m the small signal model can be reduced to a simple resistance of 1/g_m
